History of Sensei Bradley Craig
Bradley Craigs Martial Arts

Bradley Craig’s introduction to the art of karate was in September 2002. Bradley started studying karate at the age of eight years old under Sensei Andrew Carey of Careys Martial Arts. Once Bradley reached his yellow belt, he competed in regional championships and then his first state championships as a 6th Kyu Green Belt. Bradley continued his training with Sensei Andrew Carey for many years and competed in State championships along the way.

When Bradley Achieved his 2nd Kyu Brown Belt, Careys Martial Arts changed organisations and decided to run under Shotokan Karate Coalition lead by Chief instructor Keith Geyer 7th Dan. Bradley then competed in his first National Australian Championship in Melbourne, where he achieved 4th Place in both Kata and 3rd place in Kumite.

Not long after this, he graded to Shodan Black Belt under Sensei Keith Geyer. He then went on to compete in many different competitions in karate achieving great results in State and National Championships including a first place in Team Kata.
In April 2019 Bradley competed in the trials for the National team for the 2nd JKA OCEANIC CHAMPIONSHIPS in Bangkok. He was successful with Kata and reserves for Kumite Free Sparring. Bradley performed well taking on the world but was unable to make the finals due to an injury.
Later that year Bradley also graded to his 3rd Dan Sandan Black Belt, under Sensei Keith Geyer and Sensei Lutie Van Den Berg.

In 2021 Bradley was back into training at full speed again after surgery and competed in local sparring competitions. In September 2021 Bradley was given approval by both Sensei Keith Geyer and Sensei Andrew Carey to start his own Dojo BCMA (Bradley Craigs Martial Arts) in Joondalup at the ECU Sports Centre. He has already had a good start with several visitors travelling from far across Western Australia to train at BCMA.

Why Train BCMA Karate???
(JKA-SKC )
JKA Karate is the worlds largest and most prestigious karate organization.

Karate is not a game of points, weight classes, neat tricks, or showy demonstrations. It is a martial art and a way of life that trains a practitioner to be peaceful; but if conflict is unavoidable, true karate dictates taking down an opponent with a single blow. Such an action requires strength, focus, timing, and control.

Through Kihon, Kata and Kumite we learn to control our movements. A true Karate-Ka must develop an ability to perform techniques without thinking of them and remain focused without having to concentrate on any one thing alone.

The result of true karate is natural, effortless action and the confidence, humility, openness, and peace only possible through the perfect unity of mind and body.

Karate not only helps with self defense, it also helps deal with every day life living. Karate changes the way we look at things, keeping our cool and staying focused on the tasks at hand
